New to Faith?
There are times in life for all of us when things are difficult, or we look at the world around us and wonder what is going on? Why am I here? What is life's purpose? Is there more to life than I can see and touch? Does God care about me? Can I know God?
In the Bible, people asked these kinds of questions and they found the answer in Jesus.
Jesus said “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks recieves; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew chapter 7, verses 7 to 8).
Jesus wants us to know him, and to find our life's meaning in him.
But how do we seek Jesus? How do we look for him?
Begin with our ‘What we Believe’ page. This explains the important things we need to know about having a relationship with God.
Then have a look in the Bible. The Bible is God’s words recorded for us - it is God’s truth. Look in the New Testament (the second half), start with Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. These are eye witness accounts of Jesus life and words.
Pray – talk to God, even if that seems strange. God hears you and knows everything about you. You don’t need to be in a special place or use special words, remember Jesus said “Ask…Seek…Knock…”
If you would like us to pray for you as well just get in touch (see our Contact Us page).
Visit church. We realise this can be a bit nerve wracking if you are new and we will meet you at the door and help you feel comfortable. We are people of all ages and backgrounds and we were all new to church once too. We are happy to talk to you about any questions you have and we won’t be offended.
Details of our Sunday services and early evening café church details are available here, or come along to our coffee and chat (Saturdays 16 November, 14 December, and then every second Saturday of the month, 10am-12 noon at church).
In January 2025, we are running a Hope Explored Course. All are welcome to join us.
