Above are The PAIS team members currently working in some 18 schools across Rotherham/South Yorkshire , including Wickersley Comp., Dinnington Comp., Oakwood, Stocksbridge High, Aughton Primary, Springwood Junior & Infant and
St. John's Primary in Deepcar. They are taking assemblies, RE lessons, lunch time clubs and dance clubs and offer break time playground support amongst other
things. The team members are Tabitha Ashby (20), Sean Millar (18), Emma Hinds (18) and Lydia Beech (18) with Jonathan Buckley, presently attached to HURC,
acting as their team leader.
Jon grew up mainly in Coventry, although his father’s calling as an Anglican
vicar took the family round the country! He comes to us with solid experienc
of children’s and young people’s work. Prior to taking his History degree at
Nottingham Trent University, he worked with Careforce (an organisation
similar to PAIS) in south-west London. During his time in Nottingham, he worked with vulnerable youngsters in the Meadows one of the toughes areas of Nottingham. Jon has also been on three mission trips to Uganda, on the
last occasion leading a team of 11 to build classroom facilitie in Kampala,
Uganda, with Watoto.
PAIS currently works in Great Britain, USA, Northern Ireland, Canada, Germany
and Thailand with many more countries coming online ... and offers young
people aged 18 plus with an interest in faith issues a range of courses designed
to integrate them into the local church family. This may include the opportunity
to join a PAIS Team on a 'gap year' project in any of the countries currently
being worked in.
